The organizational objectives of the Illinois F.O.P. are to promote and foster the enforcement of law and order, to improve the individual and collective proficiency of members in the performance of their duties: to advocate and strive for uniform application of the civil service merit system for appointment and promotion: to support the improvement of the standard of living and working conditions of the Law Enforcement professional: to create and maintain a tradition of espirit de corps, ensuring fidelity to duty under all conditions and circumstances: to cultivate spirit of fraternalism and mutual helpfulness among its members; to increase the efficiency of the law enforcement professional, and thus more firmly to establish the confidence of the public in the service dedicated to the protection of life and property.
The Illinois State Lodge offers technical and support services to its subordinate Lodges through its various Elected Officers, Trustees, and committees and staff personnel. The State Lodge maintains an office in Springfield, Illinois and works in close conjunction with the Illinois F.O.P. Labor council. Illinois F.O.P. members receive $1,000 life insurance policy along with other member benefits. A Legal Defense program is coordinated through the State Lodge to protect members from unwarranted disciplinary action. Additional insurance coverage is available to members who lack coverage through their employers. Legislatively the Illinois F.O.P. maintains vigil on pro law enforcement issues in Springfield and continually strives to enact legislation on behalf of its members. Additionally, the Illinois F.O.P. works closely with other F.O.P. Lodges to affect federal legislation as well. Every two years the State Lodge conducts a Biannual conference where they establish, the future direction of the organization, and where they hold representation elections. An elected State Trustee represents each lodge in a geographical are or political subdivision. Additionally, Statewide Officers are elected at this time. In years not impacted by the biannual conference the Illinois State Lodge participation in the National Conference to ensure the Illinois members impact the direction of the F.O.P on a National level.

The mission of the Fraternal Order of Police, Illinois Corrections Lodge 263, shall be to provide its members with the opportunity to support and interact and be a part of and have a voice as its brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement of all entities. We will encourage and promote friendships, participate in charity, fraternal, civic and legislative events for betterment and positive promotion of its members and their needs as well as the community.
